Attention EMPLOYER'S!
On October 31, 2008 the OEA sponsored Nova Scotia’s first Employers Consultation Session. It was an opportunity for employers to participate, provide input and play an important role in shaping the Five Year Strategic Plan for the Workers’ Compensation Board, Nova Scotia. Approximately 37 employers were in attendance representing Nova Scotia industry. In addition, representatives from the Workers’ Compensation Board, Nancy MacCready-Williams, CEO and Stuart MacLean), attended and participated in the session.
Recommendations made by employers to be reviewed by WCB are:
• Clear communication between WCB and Nova Scotia Employers
• Improvement in Claim handling
• Improved Access to WCB File Information
• Governance – Better opportunity for Employer participation
• Education of Stakeholders
• Health care/Medicine
• Financial Accountability & Reporting
• Legal Representation for Employers
